Rajshree, the star daughter of acclaimed filmmaker V. Shantaram and actress Jayshree , was one of the top stars of 1960s in Hindi cinema. She was known for her classic beauty, acting and dancing capabilities.

Rajshree launched her career as a child star in her father V.Shantaram's Subah Ka Taara (1954). V.Shantaram launched her as heroine opposite Jeetendra in the film Geet Gaya Patharon Ne in the year 1964. Rajshree acted in numerous hit films including Geet Gaaya Pattharon Ne (1964), Janwar (1965), Brahmachari (1968), Around the World (1967) and was a lead actress opposite Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Biswajit, Manoj Kumar, Jeetendra, to name few. Her other notable films include Stree (1961), Ghar Basake Dekho (1963), Shehnai (1964), Ji Chahta Hai (1964), Do Dil (1965), Mohabbat Zindagi Hai (1966), Sagaai (1966) , Gunahon Ka Devta (1967), Dil Ne Pukara (1967), Suhaag Raat (1968) and Naina (1973).

Rajshree left a lucrative career and settled in Los Angeles after marrying American Greg Chapman in 1967. The couple have a daughter.
